As a professional athlete, there is nothing more frustrating than being down on the scoreboard compared to your opponent. It brings out the anger of the athlete and of course, puts them in a rather irritable mood.

The latest instance of that is none other than DeAndre Hopkins, the wideout for the Tennessee Titans. In his first season playing for the team, Hopkins appears to have already made an enemy rather than a friend.

Following an unsuccessful drive from the Titans offensive, Kyle Philips, the wideout drafted 163rd overall in the 5th round of the 2022 NFL Draft headed back to the wide receivers huddle to take a seat on the sidelines. This was when things got a little bit weird, as soon as Kyle sat down, DeAndre Hopkins who was sitting right next to him, just stood up and took off.

Deandre Hopkins has not had a single touchdown with the Tennessee Titans 5-games into the season

Hopkins did not even wait for a split second, he did not flinch, and before Philips could even remove his helmet, the veteran wideout appeared visibly frustrated and walked past Philips. DeAndre Hopkins walked out on Philips just like the way fantasy managers walked out on him after 5-games into the season. His response surfaced out of pure frustration and helplessness.

The Tennessee Titans have had a dismal record so far this season. With just 2 wins and 4 losses, they are placed at the bottom of the AFC South. And DeAndre Hopkins, he has had a forgettable season so far tallying 356 yards and 0 touchdowns. It has been far from the ideal comeback that Hopkins had envisioned for himself.

Fans criticized the veteran wideout for his abrupt and immature move with one fan calling the incident as a “terrible look” for Hopkins. Another user called him out for having a disappointing season himself by posting, “He’s not good either.” The impact of DeAndre Hopkins’ walkout may not be the best for a young receiver who looks up to him. While it is understandable that the veteran was frustrated, he could have dealt with things better. An alternative explanation could be that with just under 1 second left on the clock before halftime, DHop was just getting a head start to go towards the locker room.
