Tennessee Titans have offered DeAndre Hopkins a better contract than the Patriots as the race to sign the star wide receiver intensifies.

Former Houston Texans wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins is a wanted man among various NFL franchises at the moment. The New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans seem to be the two teams who are most eager to acquire the services of the 31-year-old after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals in May.
The wide receiver has already visited both camps, but is yet to sign for either of them as he hopes to receive a better contract in the event a new franchise joins the race to sign him in the coming days. However, as of now, the Titans are holding the edge as reported by Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Reiss reported that the “Titans have been more aggressive to this point” with their offers but Hopkins had not swayed from his position of holding out. The former Cardinals WR seems to be well versed with the current NFL market scenario in recent years, which has seen other wide receivers take home bumper contracts.
DeAndre Hopkins not rushing into signing a contract at the moment
The Titans making a better offer for Hopkins is no surprise at all given the fact that he has a previous connection with the Patriots offensive coordinator, Bill O’Brien, having worked with him during their time at the Houston Texans. Hopkins had plenty of success at the Texans, as he spent five years with the franchise before moving on to the Arizona Cardinals in 2020.
Patriots quarterback Mac Jones recently heaped praises on Hopkins making it evident that the Patriots players want him to join the franchise this offseason. “I think DeAndre’s a great player. I mean, you watch his film from college all the way through the NFL,” Jones said on media day.
“He’s done a great job. So obviously, we’d love to have him. But we do have a great group of guys, and we just know that we want to win, and I know that all the guys feel the same way.”
In all fairness, Hopkins is arguably the best wide receiver in the market, and the 31-year-old knows that a good offer will inevitably come his way. At the moment, all Hopkins needs to do is simply wait and watch the drama unfold before his eyes, and eventually pounce on the better deal offered to him.
