The San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns are playing each other in their week 6 matchup at the FirstEnergy Stadium. It is going to be a battle between one of the league’s best offenses against one of its best defenses. The atmosphere got chippy even before the game started as Niners’ WR Deebo Samuel and Browns’ safety Juan Thornhill got into an ugly fight minutes before kick-off.
A video of the incident was captured by a fan in the stands. Multiple players from both teams were involved in the melee as Samuel was seen pushing a Cleveland player, who appeared to be Thornhill. Niners’ lineman Trent Williams was also involved in the scuffle. The analyst crew on FOX reacted to the fight.
“This is the worst thing that can happen for Cleveland. Don’t poke the bear!” former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson said while reacting to the fight. “They’re the best team in football and now you start pushing and shoving, that just gives San Francisco some incentive to go out there and play hard.”
The Niners are arguably the best team in the NFL right now. They are 5-0 to start the season and are looking like the Super Bowl favorites this season. They are playing a Browns team which has one of, if not the best defense in football and it is going to be a tasty matchup. The Niners will play the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football next week.
Deebo Samuel ruled out of the Niners-Browns game after a shoulder injury
The San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel has been ruled out for the remainder of the Niners’ game against the Cleveland Browns because of a shoulder injury. Last year was an injury-riddled season for Samuel who missed a significant chunk of games.
Samuel has 20 receptions for 302 yards and one touchdown and also has 84 yards on 16 carries this season. Although Samuel missed games last season, he helped the Niners reach the NFC Championship game. The 49ers eventually lost the game to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Niners are currently trailing by three points against the Browns. They are unbeaten through five weeks this season. The Browns will be looking to break that winning streak today. The Niners will visit the U.S. Bank Stadium next Monday to play the Minnesota Vikings. The Browns on the other hand will play the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday.
