Throughout this season, when Brock Purdy had to face criticism despite proving his competency with stellar performances, those who refused to leave his side were his teammates at the San Francisco 49ers. And they continue to do so as Deebo Samuel showered high praises on him ahead of the big game of Super Bowl LVIII

Purdy’s critics turned even louder after the Niners’ divisional round game against the Green Bay Packers due to Purdy’s lackluster performance that nearly cost them the playoffs. Though it was the quarterback’s game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter that secured San Francisco’s victory, he was highly criticized for the lacking offensive game, especially after the star receiver suffered a shoulder injury and went sideline.

While talking on the matter, the All-Pro pass-catcher rather seemed impressed by his quarterback for leading the Niners to the victory and working so well under pressure, contrary to the ‘game-manager’ allegations.

I think Brock [Purdy] is really smart and the moment is never too big for him. And he’s just been the same person that he’s always been. He just stepped it up.

Though the second-year quarterback couldn’t pull off his best game against the Packers as he finished 23-of-39 for 252 yards and a touchdown, what matters he mobilized the 69-yard game-winning drive and advanced his team to the NFC title game.

Brock Purdy’s impressive season stats and achievements

When the 2023 regular season began, no one even thought QB Purdy would emerge as a shining star and favorite for the NFL MVP award. But as the seasons unfolded, not only did he lead his team to the Super Bowl, but he also earned his first Pro Bowl honor.
