Colorado wasn’t considered a serious College Football program until Deion Sanders set foot there last year and announced that he was there to win. Everyone, from the media to the fans, was unconvinced prior to the Buffalos giving a crash course on how to win against all the odds when they faced TCU. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders gave a Heisman-worthy performance and was touted for the same in their next match.

Their opponents, Nebraska Cornhuskers, came to Folsom Field after a disappointing defeat in the first game. But they wanted to turn things around. Unfortunately for them, Shedeur was on song once more. But it was the Cornhuskers’ mistake that opened the door for Colorado.

Nebraska had four turnovers, missed a field goal, and to make matters worse, quarterback Jeff Sims botched two snaps in the first half. While the Buffs were less error-prone, they too started slow. Despite taking seven sacks, Shedeur Sanders bounced back and capped off another strong showing.

He finished the game with 31 of 42 for 393 yards, two touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown, which had the flavor of his head coach/father. In the fourth quarter, on third down, Sanders saw a gap in the Nebraska defense, ran to score a 10-yard touchdown, and broke into his dad’s signature dance move, which Coach Prime did not enjoy.

“It was horrible,” Deion Sanders joked to the press after the game. One of the reporters claimed that Shedeur said it was better than his dad. Sanders replied, “He don’t kick the feet up. He don’t want it. Shedeur’s not a dancer.”

Shedeur Sanders said the Nebraska game was personal

Tension was building even before anyone even kicked a ball yesterday. When the Cornhuskers came out to familiarize themselves with their surroundings, Shedeur Sanders ran near their huddle on the field. It’s not uncommon for opposing players to banter, whether through their words or actions. But it was different this time, and so was his dance in the game. He revealed the game was ‘personal’ because of Nebraska manager Matt Rhule‘s alleged unwarranted comments.

“If a couple of players do it, that’s fine; just enjoy the scenery,” Shedeur told the media after the game. “But when you get the whole team trying to disrespect it, I’m not going for that at all. So, I went over there and disrupted it.”

He added,” The coach [Matt Rhule] said a lot of things about my pops. I don’t respect that because you hated on another man.” (H/T: APnews)

Previously, coach Rhule had criticized the Buffaloes recruitment policy. He also commented on their abysmal 1-11 record last season and the horrid trajectory of the past decade.
