Deion Sanders, the new head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football team, was seen getting emotional in front of the media right after his team won against the TCU Horned Frogs. Surprisingly, the Buffaloes defeated the TCU by a result of 45-42.
Right after the result, the head coach was seen thanking the almighty for the result. He also praised his son and the team’s quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, and the wide receiver, Travis Hunter. Both of them were pivotal in terms of achieving success. Sanders made a passing record by throwing for more than 500 yards as a Colorado QB. On the other hand, Hunter had 11 catches as a wide receiver.
This is the sole reason why the head coach praised both of them in a post-match presentation. In an interaction with the FOX, the head coach said, “Thank you, Jesus, I am so thankful right now. My son man… my other son… I am loving these kids.” He kept saying that he considered the opportunity a blessing and thanked everyone who believed in him and supported his team.
The legendary Dallas Cowboys player also shared a special message for the fans for the upcoming fixture. When the reporter asked him about the team’s next fixture which is going to be held at the coach’s hometown, Sanders said, “We told you we coming. We told you we coming. You thought we was joking. And guess what? We keep receipts?” His message was clear to the fans that he wanted loud cheers and appreciation from the home crowd of Colorado.
Performance of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter in the season opener
Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter were pivotal in terms of achieving the result for the team. Sanders made an all-time record by throwing the ball for more than 500 yards. He becomes the first player to do that in the team’s history. The QB had 38-of-47 passing for 510 yards and ended the game with four touchdowns. He was well-supported by his fellow teammate Travis Hunter, who had more than 100 snaps.
Hunter started as both receiver and defensive back and helped his team with 119 yards and had some great interceptions. Another player, Jimmy Horn Jr. played an important knock by having 11 catches for 117 yards.
The Buffaloes will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their next match on September 9.
