Against all odds! The Colorado Buffaloes led by Deion Sanders went into #17 Texas Christian University’s (TCU) home field Amon G. Carter Stadium as 21-point road underdogs and ended up winning the game. Sanders’ era in Colorado began with a victory over a ranked opponent on Saturday. After the game, Coach Prime hit back at reporters who doubted him and his team.
“Do you believe now? I read through that bull-junk you wrote, do you believe?,” Sanders asked the senior ESPN reporter Ed Werder, who described Sanders as a ‘celebrity football coach’ in a tweet. Wedder, who was seemingly confused by the question, asked Sanders, “In what?”
“He doesn’t believe,” Sanders said, shrugging and seemingly dismissing the veteran scribe. “Next question.” Wedder used to cover the Dallas Cowboys for The Dallas Morning News when Sanders was playing as a cornerback for the Jerry Jones-owned team. And now, they’ve crossed paths once again. Check out the footage of the whole interaction below.
Coach Prime further told reporters that he keeps receipts following the Colorado Buffaloes’ remarkable win against TCU despite being heavy underdogs. Shedeur Sanders, son of Coach Prime and the starting quarterback of the Buffaloes, had a historic game and broke Colorado’s single-game passing yardage record as he registered 510 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns on the game.
Thanks to remarkable performances from multiple players on the team, Colorado has now won the same number of games they did back in 2022 and they’ve played only one game in 2023 so far.

Deion Sanders era in Colorado is off to a great start
From selling out tickets to winning against ranked opponents, Deion Sanders’ era in Colorado has been to a great start. Many people doubted Sanders’ ability to achieve success in a Power 5 program, but he is starting to make them believe in his team.
In the first game of Sanders’ era, the Colorado Buffaloes won a tough road game against TCU. As previously reported, the former 5-star recruit Travis Hunter played both as a wide receiver and as a cornerback in the game.
Hunter caught 11 passes for 119 yards while averaging 10.8 yards per reception. Furthermore, he also registered 1 interception and 3 tackles while playing on the defensive side of the ball game.
In brief, the Buffaloes are up to a great start in 2023. They will look to increase the momentum with another victory against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who they will be hosting next weekend.
