Deion Sanders is a confident human being is primary than him being one of the greatest players to ever play in the NFL. His confidence has led him to call himself the best college football coach in the entire world. Since becoming the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes in December 2022, his confidence has transferred into his players and that is a major reason why the Buffs are 3-0 to begin their 2023 college football season.
The Buffaloes are the darling of the football world at the moment, thanks in large part to their head coach. Sanders took a 1-11 team from last year and has completely transformed it into a potential behemoth in CFB. During an appearance on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Sanders was asked about his thoughts on the best college football head coach right now. His answer did not disappoint.
“Let me see a mirror so I can look at it,” Sanders answered. “You think I’m gonna sit up here and tell you somebody else? Do you think that’s the way I operate? That somebody else got that on me?” Sanders though, gave respect to Alabama’s legendary football coach Nick Saban during the interview.
Deion Sanders praised Coach Saban as the world’s best football coach, saying, “I love and respect him. Every time I do a commercial with Coach Saban, it’s a gift. Just being around him and hearing his perspective is invaluable. He has so much knowledge, and I’m just a student eager to learn from this great teacher. I’m always asking for a piece of his wisdom.”
Sanders previously coached Jackson State from 2020 to 2022. After joining Colorado as their head coach, Sanders made a roster overall before the 2023 season, bringing in players like Travis Hunter and Sanders’ two sons, QB Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders. He has his team 3-0 to begin the season and the entire football world’s eyes are on these Buffs.

Sanders discussed his decision to leave and said, “I didn’t leave in a rush; I left when it was the right time. We completed what we set out to do. Many coaches take new jobs and leave quickly. We stayed until the job was done.”
Further, he also mentioned the impact on Jackson State’s players and staff: “We didn’t just leave without a plan. We brought several players, three trainers, and about 12 out of 14 staff members with us. This move provided them with significant opportunities.”
The Buffaloes have started the season with a bang. They are 3-0 and have been playing some exciting football. Sanders and company are the talk of the sports town so far and this will only continue with this win streak. The Buffs will play their next game against the Oregon Ducks on September 23.
