Nick Saban, arguably the greatest head coach of college football, decided to take his boots off after his 17 prolonged seasons with Alabama Crimson Tide. The football lovers went into shock after hearing the news that the legendary coach would not be providing his input anymore on the field.
Deion Sanders is one of the stalwarts who shared his emotions after the incident took place. Coach Prime started his college football only in 2023. His first season may not have met with the anticipated success but his start did create hype in the league.
Taking Saban’s retirement issue to X (formerly Twitter), Coach Prime wrote:
WOW! College Football just lost the GOAT to retirement. WOW! I knew it would happen 1 day soon but not this soon. The game has changed so much that it chased the GOAT away. College football let's hold up our mirrors and say HONESTLY what u see.

The former Alabama coach shares an all-time great record of winning seven national titles. No coach has ever come close to this record. Out of seven, six of the titles came in his dynastic reign with the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide.
Despite spending most of his career in college football, Saban also tried his luck in professional football. He coached the Miami Dolphins for two seasons. Those two seasons were highly disappointing, leading the HC to depart from professional football. He then joined college football and created a beast Alabama side.
Saban seemed emotional while biding adieu to the Alabama squad
While sending his last gratitude, the former Alabama head coach seemed emotional. In his last speech, the former HC said that he carried a legacy on his shoulders for 17 years. Wins and losses can not explain the entire scenario. He also revealed the close ties of him and his family with the team.

We have enjoyed every minute of our 17 years being the head coach at Alabama as well as becoming a part of the Tuscaloosa community. It is not just about how many games we won and lost, but it’s about the legacy and how we went about it.Saban said in his statement
Saban produced some incredible records as the head coach of Alabama. Apart from winning six National Championships, the HC won nine Southeastern Championships (SEC). He led his team to winning seasons every single year of his coaching, barring his first.
Alabama produced 123 NFL players, a record in college football. In addition, under his coaching, four players became Heisman Trophy winners from the Alabama roster.
With all these, a statue of the head coach was made by the fans. It is to be seen who replaces him and how he will work as a successor.
