Deion Sanders‘ historic raise as a college football head coach takes a setback, as the Dallas Cowboys legend reveals that he has to undergo emergency surgery on Friday to avoid the possibility of left foot amputation. Sanders revealed the bad news in a YouTube video that he posted on Thursday.

“I have two clots, one in my right leg, one in my left leg, which is my thighs,” Sanders said on the YouTube video. “OK, so now I’m having a procedure tomorrow to try to get those clots so now I can have proper blood flow to the leg so they can fix the toes.”

The 8-time Pro Bowl defensive back Deion Sanders made it clear that there are no talks about amputating his foot right. However, the doctors have warned him that the worst-case scenario would be foot amputation.

“There is no talk of amputation,” Sanders said Thursday. “There’s no talk of any of that whatsoever. The doctor was just telling me worse come to worst, this was going to happen. But I believe in staying right so we never have to take that left.”

Sanders already has two of his toes amputated and was experiencing difficulties on his foot due to circulation issues. The legendary DB reportedly had no feelings on his left foot last week. Later, an ultra scan revealed that his arteries had closed according to reports. He will undergo emergency surgery on Friday.

The Cowboys legend, who had a remarkable career in the NFL that spanned over 14 years, recently joined the Colorado Buffaloes football team as their head coach. The Colorado fans were hyped to see Deion as their captain because of his track record as a head coach in the college circle. Sanders worked as the head coach of the HBCU Jackson State for three years and put them on the map.

Deion Sanders’ net worth is around $50 million and he excels at recruiting players due to his legendary status as a Pro Football Hall of Famer. In 2022, he accepted the coaching gig at Colorado University and was looking forward to leading the Buffaloes to the college football playoffs. But now that he has health issues, the question arises: will he continue as the head coach of the Buffaloes?

As of now, there are no talks about Sanders stepping away from football because of his health issues. It seems like Sanders is not even thinking about it. So unless the situation gets any worse, Sanders is highly likely to continue as the head coach of the Buffaloes football team.
