Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are the talk of the football world right now. After joining the team as the head coach near the end of last year, Sanders has transformed the culture of the Buffs. The team ended their 2022 campaign with a measly record of 1-11. After a win on Saturday against rivals Colorado State Rams, the team has started the 2023 season 3-0. It was a close game throughout and the Buffs eventually won the game in double overtime.

Before the game, Rams’ HC Jay Norvell took a dig at Sanders for wearing glasses and a hat while talking to his players. “When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off,” he said during an appearance on a radio show. Sanders fired back by saying this would only motivate his team. The game was a highly competitive affair with the Buffs, eventually pulling out a double OT victory.

The most anticipated part of the game was the post-game handshake between the two coaches. Both Sanders and Norvell shook hands in the middle of the field as cameras surrounded them to capture the moment. The game ended 43-35 in favor of Sanders’ team. The game had a lot of fire and passion as the No.1 target of the Buffs’ QB Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, took a cheap shot from CSU defender Henry Blackburn. Hunter was hospitalized after the hit and will likely miss some games going forward.

They will play their next game against the Oregon Ducks on September 23. It will be another test for Sanders and his players against a top-rated program in college football.
