The Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach Deion Sanders might not need to have his foot amputated following a successful surgery on Friday. According to Sanders’ girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds‘ Instagram post, the former Dallas Cowboys’ defensive back underwent a successful surgery to remove his blood clots.
“We are so grateful for the healing power of God and for all of our prayer warriors!” Sanders’ girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds, captioned an Instagram photo that read “Never doubt the power of prayer” Friday evening. “It was a long, but successful day! Coach Prime Deion Sanders is resting and doing great tonight after his surgery! Thank you Lord! Thank you Fam! We love you!,” the post further read.
Deion Sanders, with a net worth of $50 million, posted a video on Thursday to reveal that he would need surgery to fix the blood clots. He revealed that he had two clots in his legs, one on his right leg and another one on his left thigh. There was a possibility that the Cowboys legend might need to amputate his foot, but Sanders downplayed it by claiming that there is no talk of amputation before the surgery.
The surgery was performed to restore the blood flow needed for the doctors to operate to remove the hammer toes on Sanders’ foot. He previously had two of his toes amputated due to that particular issue. Sanders had to use a motorized vehicle at times during his coaching gig at Jackson State. Now that the surgery is over, Sanders is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
Deion Sanders looks to bring Colorado Buffaloes to relevancy

After a successful 3-year stint as the head coach of HBCU Jackson State, Deion Sanders decided to take his talents to the big stage as he accepted a coaching gig at the Power 5 program Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffaloes have won one college football National Championship, which they won back in 1990. The program was losing its fanbase in recent years, but “Prime Time” Sanders might bring back the football program to relevancy.
Sanders has brought in a lot of talented players through the transfer portal and looks to have a decent first impression as the Buffaloes’ head coach. The Buffaloes finished dead last in the Pac-12 conference with an ugly record of 1-8 in the 2022 college football season.
Sanders doesn’t have a big task ahead of him in his first season. If the Cowboys icon can lead his team to 4 or 5 wins in the upcoming season, he would’ve done his job. They can build on it in the future and maybe have a playoff appearance soon.
