Derek Carr had a catastrophic downfall in the latter half of the last season. The 32-year-old was ousted by the Las Vegas Raiders for consistent poor performances. However, Carr had grown quite fond of his team in Las Vegas and was deeply saddened after he was cut from the team. Since then, the QB had been completely silent about the issue. However, Carr shared the whole story in his new interview via Fresno Bee.

Carr was extremely upset following his fallout with the Raiders and wanted to play more with the team. The former Raiders QB was even content with playing with less money. He loved the Las Vegas fans dearly and wanted to bid them a decent farewell.

“I was, for lack of a better term, I was very upset; was mad,” Carr stated. “I would have said I don’t even want the money, just to play two more times in front of our fans. I didn’t get that opportunity. So it definitely lit a fire inside me to keep going.”

Following his fallout with the Raiders, Carr has joined the New Orleans Saints and will help them bounce back after an abysmal season last year. He has signed a 4-year $150 million deal with the Saints and has been a solid option for them since the departure of QB Drew Brees from the city of New Orleans.

The Raiders had drafted Derek Carr in the year 2014 and he was selected in the second round of the NFL draft. However, his long tenure with the team didn’t matter, as he was ousted in a matter of weeks.

Carr was still confused about his expulsion and is still finding the relevant answers regarding it. The Saints QB believes his records and fans didn’t matter when he was released by the team.

“You spend nine years in a place, you have all the records and you can play at a high level and for something to get in the way, whether it was whatever reason, money related or whatever, injury related,” Derek Carr stated.

Derek Carr’s wife is Heather Neel and he is looking to bounce back after the disastrous season with the Raiders and will look to have a decent beginning in New Orleans. Derek Carr is the optimal replacement for the Saints and makes their squad stronger than before.
