DeSean Jackson is a legendary WR who has been a free agent for quite some time now. The talented WR has created a massive legacy in the NFL and will be remembered for many years to come if he wishes to retire.
However, the 36-year-old WR is hoping to make a comeback in the NFL after an unsuccessful stint with the Baltimore Ravens. The free agent WR recently put out a cryptic post on Instagram where he spoke about a possible return.
“Did it my way 15 years strong! Neva anotha like it,” DeSean Jackson stated on his Instagram. Jackson is known for many records in the league and was a deadly WR for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Nonetheless, it seems like age has finally caught up to him and the WR has become significantly slow. However, he is still a veteran of the game and can provide quality to any team as their 3rd or 4th choice receiver.
Jackson currently holds the NFL record for most touchdowns over 60 yards and joint most touchdowns over 80 yards. He was also the first player who was named in the Pro Bowl for 2 different positions, a WR and a return specialist. With so many records to his name, it is expected that many teams will line up for him and offer him a good deal. However, DeSean Jackson can’t accept a massive contract and will have to play for a lower-end contract instead.
Injuries hindered the career of DeSean Jackson
DeSean Jackson has played for several teams throughout his career in the NFL including the Eagles, Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and the Washington-based team.
However, his game really faltered when he suffered numerous injuries in the tail-end of his career. Since 2019, Jackson hasn’t started more than 5 games in a league season.
Therefore, many on social media have advised him to retire instead. However, there were also some who believe that DeSean Jackson should retire as a true legend in Eagles colours.
The veteran WR should sign a decent deal with the team and contend for Super Bowl. However, that’s a long shot as the Philadelphia-based team are currently decent when it comes to receiving.
