The Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was expected to fully recover in the bye week, has been ruled out now for the Browns’ game against the San Francisco 49ers. This will be the second straight game Watson will miss due to injury. In his absence, PJ Walker will be the starting QB of the Browns, the team announced Friday.

Furthermore, some reports suggest that Watson could end up missing multiple weeks due to his shoulder injury. Watson is suffering from a right rotator cuff contusion and can’t throw the football without pain per reports. The expensive quarterback also missed the Browns’ week 4 game against the division rivals Baltimore Ravens and caught heat from the fans for it.

Following their 28-3 loss against the Ravens, Kevin Stefanski, the head coach of the Cleveland-based football team, strangely put Watson under the bus by claiming the quarterback missed the game despite being medically cleared to play. Even now, Stefanski emphasized that Watson’s shoulder remains structurally sound, but the quarterback just doesn’t feel comfortable while throwing the football.

The Browns had a bye in week 5 and Watson is expected to fully recover from his shoulder injury. But the former Pro Bowl QB hasn’t been able to complete his recovery and will miss multiple weeks including their week 6 game against the tough opponents 49ers. Amidst this, many people, including NBC’s Mike Florio, have raised questions about Deshaun Watson’s injury situation.

Nonetheless, the Browns have also ruled out another one of their star players, the All-Pro guard Joel Botino, who previously made 102 consecutive starts for the Browns. Without some of their star players, it could be a long night for Stefanski and the Browns against the 5-0 49ers.

The 2-2 Browns are scheduled to take on the undefeated 49ers on Sunday. Without their starting QB, the Browns, led by PJ Walker, could struggle a lot against the Niners on the field.

On the other hand, the Niners led by their star quarterback Brock Purdy will look to make a statement with a dominant victory against the deflated Browns and remain undefeated in the ongoing NFL season.
