The Cleveland Browns franchise has had a roller coaster ride this season. After being faced with the fear of their season coming to an abrupt end after Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, the team signed veteran Joe Flacco.

The 16-year veteran has led the team to four consecutive victories and has helped the Browns secure a spot in the playoffs. With his stellar performance, Flacco has won the hearts of the team’s fanbase and some of them are even vouching for him to be the permanent starter for the team.

Deshaun Watson, in the latest edition of The Dawgs Podcast, cleared the air regarding the Joe Flacco situation and stated that he does not resent the fact that the team is doing really well without him.

They look good...it's the culture thing but it just shows you...this is the Cleveland Browns...we got almost 18 guys on IR and almost 12 of them are starters. It's a lot of guys and you got other guys that's banged up. This is what Cleveland is all about, we're setting the tone...this is the reason I came to Cleveland.

The Cleveland culture is one that sets an example for teams across the NFL. Kevin Stefanski has gone through 4 different quarterbacks this season, and he has managed to lead the team to its second playoff appearance in 21 years. Watson attributed the team’s success to Stefanski and the culture he has inculcated within the organization.

Watson further stated,

The people that they bringing in, the coaches that they bringing in...all this started back in spring when we kicking in it, when we doing OTAs, we competing against each other...

The quarterback cited team chemistry as one of the primary reasons for the success this season.

Before the season began, the Browns ensured the team got ample opportunities to hang out and build a bond with one another. The team got a week off for resting and Watson, David Njoku, Myles Garrett and others visited the Bahamas and were enjoying themselves playing golf.

While Joe Flacco has been a key reason for the team’s success in the last 5 games, Deshaun Watson believes it is Kevin Stefanski and the front office that deserves the bulk of the credit. This does not take away from the fact that Flacco is a great QB who is skilled.

However, the HC deserves his share of the credit because ever since Flacco signed with the team in the middle of the season, not once has it ever seemed like he is trying to get used to the Browns playbook, he is playing like he is well versed with each and every play.
