“You sick f*ck”: Deshaun Watson welcomed with rather UNHOLY chants by Jacksonville fans
Deshaun Watson
The Deshaun Watson saga continues to unfold with new twists and turns coming out in public domain almost every day. A storm was ignited when Retd. Judge Sue L. Robinson’s ruling that Watson would be suspended for the first 6 games of the season came out.
The world was not ready to accept the mild punishment and ended up seeing an outrage across the internet over the ruling. Even the NFL itself didn’t look satisfied with the judge’s decision. The league was actually pushing for a year-long ban on the Cleveland Browns quarterback.
Deshaun Watson receives a nasty welcome by Jags fans
The ruling by Judge Robinson was based on violation of the league’s personal conduct policy by Watson. Most of cases have been settled out of court by Watson and his legal team. “We’ve seen the evidence,” Goodell had claimed following Tuesday’s Special League Meeting in Minneapolis.
Amidst all the hullaballoo, Associated Press reported that Deshaun is actually ready to accept 8-game suspension and a fine of $5 million. While a final call on what will happen with Deshaun is yet to be taken, the QB appeared for the Browns in their preseason opener against the Jaguars and as expected, he received quite a welcome by the fans.
Every time the QB appeared on the field, he was given the full treatment by the Jags fans. Chants of “you sick f*ck” echoed the stadium as the Jaguars ended up losing badly to the Cleveland-based franchise. The game ended 13-24 in favor of the Browns so it would be fair to say their fans didn’t have a lot to cheer.
However, Deshaun’s presence in the opposite camp allowed them to show some unity and enthusiasm. What exactly will happen with Watson is yet to be finalized but one thing is for sure, a lot is riding on this case and it won’t be wrong to say that the league’s overall reputation is at stake here.
