When it comes to fashion, Miami Dolphins DB DeShon Elliott surely knows the game. Right now, the defensive back is into German fashion as he embraced it during the Dolphins game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Elliott never disappoints his fans with his hard-hitting style, both on as well as off the field. He stepped into the Frankfurt stadium decked in a traditional German outfit, called ‘Trachten,’ consisting of a casual shirt (usually white), suspenders, a jacket, wool stockings, and country shoes.
Earlier this year in March, Dolphins’ safety signed a one-year contract with the franchise worth $1.77 million. The mega matchup between the Chiefs and Dolphins was held in Germany because as part of the international series, every team is to play at an international site once every eight years. Since this year was Germany, Dolphins DB got inspired by their local heritage and decided to embrace that.
The 26-year-old’s classic German outfit caught the attention of Dolphins fans as well as the media, who took his pictures and clips. He walked into the stadium, carrying a black leather bag, to support his teammates against the Chiefs.
How DeShon Elliott’s two hits against the Patriots cost him more than $50K
The last game that Dolphins’ safety Elliott played was against the New England Patriots on Sunday in Week 8 this season. Though his team won the game, he ended up being fined quite a large sum, which was around $53,542. The NFL office decided to hammer the defensive back for his two hits during the game, both of them were not ruled as penalties on the field.
The first fine of $43,709 was made for safety’s unnecessary roughness in the second quarter, while the second one of $9,833 for the same reason, but in the third quarter. Apparently, they didn’t specify the reason why the fine for the first hit was so much more than the second one.
One of the two major hits by Elliott resulted in giving Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker a concussion, due to which he had to miss the Patriots game this week. Ironically, that one was fined less by the league officials. The earlier one was for tackling the running back Rhamondre Stevenson for which Elliott did seem to be fined well.
