Amidst the recent criticism faced by the Dolphins quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa by many within the industry, head coach Mike McDaniel stands firmly with him, as well as his team, the Miami Dolphins. Though the quarterback is really working his way up to his MVP number, not everyone agrees with his potential, like Stephen A. Smith.

When asked, what the reason for the Dolphins’ offense this season was, whether it was his strategic scheming or talents such as Tagovailoa, coach McDaniel wasn’t quite thrilled. He agreed there are many glorious talents in Dolphins, such as Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill, but he doesn’t prefer crediting a specific individual. What works for the Dolphins is the team effort, that they all are working together to have a strong offense against the opponents.

He said, “My answer to that would be who the F cares? Because it is a team, we’re working together, and I know one thing: I’ve coached for a long time, and I haven’t seen people do what our guys do.” McDaniel elaborated on how each member of their team is dependent on each other and he is “not in any hurry to prove” himself that without his team, as they are part of what Dolphins is today.

To try to say it’s this person or that person is missing the point. It’s a team working together, people working together. Myself, Tyreek Hill, Tua, cool. What if no one’s blocking? You know what I mean? We’re all connected in that way,” the coach added further. Moreover, McDaniel mentioned how he has called the same plays in other offenses, and they worked out really well, just like in Miami this year, even when he did not have these players. He believes what makes a team good is “hard work and unbelievable ability.”

Coach Mike McDaniel defends Tua Tagovailoa against Smith’s criticism

Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith recently made a taunting remark on Dolphins QB Tagovailoa, at his show ‘The First Take.’ Despite him being one of the finest playmakers this season for the Dolphins, Smith thinks otherwise. He believes Tagovailoa does not contribute much to the team and all he does is throw the ball for two yards.

Surprisingly, Smith faced a lot of backlash for his comment on Tagovailoa from everyone including the Dolphins’ head coach, who did not like his QB being criticized for no apparent reason. McDaniel said, “We don’t have the time to think about Stephen A. Smith and his opinion,” along with throwing a “Who the F cares?” in it.

McDaniel stated that the team is very impressed with how the quarterback has been performing this season. So, he doesn’t appreciate listening to the opinions of some analysts.
