Despite the best of efforts, the Miami Dolphins suffered a poor loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Wild Card round, which they still haven’t recovered from. But they did get something out of this, as they celebrated having one of the best squads in the league. An integral part of that group, Jalen Ramsey seems to have brought an old NFL controversy surrounding Cam Newton and Brock Purdy.
Back in December, the former New England Patriots quarterback called San Francisco 49ers’ star QB Purdy merely a ‘game manager’ but ended up facing quite the backlash from all over the internet. Fans felt Newton was downplaying Purdy’s impact on the 49ers success this season.

However, more than a month later now, the Dolphins cornerback seemed to have jumped up in Newton’s defense in a supposedly lengthy social media post.
Ramsey claimed on his X(formerly Twitter) account:
The Cam Newton disrespect is CRAZY! I’ve never seen the NFL account slightly troll any other reporter because of a take they may not agree with, but they do with a former MVP. He can have his opinion just like the rest of em can & people can respectfully disagree.Jalen Ramsey on X
Throughout the 2023-24 season, the Niners, who are the top-seeded NFC team, have faced uncertainty about Purdy’s contributions to the team by the critics. On the contrary, some applaud the quarterback for his game-winning drive in the final minute of the game against the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round.
Jalen Ramsey opens up about his playoff loss
After the playoff elimination early in the postseason, Jalen Ramsey shared back-to-back Instagram stories, expressing how painful the end of the season was for him as well as his whole team. “Still ain’t over bullsh*d smh,” he wrote in one of his many stories.

The Dolphins’ star cornerback also wrote a hopeful message in another story, talking about the importance of surrounding oneself with ‘like-minded people.’ Adding another layer, Ramsey also included teaching from the Bible:
Winners surround themselves with other winners, positive people with other positive people, etc etc.Jalen Ramsey wrote
He further clarified that he is not just talking about football, but life as a whole. However, the pain of losing the playoff game is still reflected in his words.
