Jaylen Waddle has complete faith in Tua Tagovailoa. In a recent interview, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver only made positive remarks about his quarterback and gave credit for his leadership skills and how he influences every move that they make during the game.

Since his draft back in 2020, Tua has been a constant performer for the Miami franchise. Being a top-10 pick, he has always been under constant media scrutiny.

Despite that, the 25-year-old has shown exponential growth not only in his performance but also in character. He is currently one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and is more than likely to be in the foreseeable future.

Going back-to-back OCs and knowing the calls and what to expect from coach Mike [McDaniel], he’s just growing his knowledge of the game. Another year in the league, getting familiar with more defensive schemes.
Waddle told Kay Adams in the recent segment of the Up and Adams podcast.

The only drawback in Tua’s fledgling professional career is injuries, forcing him to miss a decent chunk of the season. Last year, he had to sit on the sidelines as the Dolphins crashed out of the wildcards due to the concussion protocol. However, he still had a respectable 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 13 games.

And he has carried that form into the 2023 season. Blowing away teams such as the Denver Broncos dropped 309 yards and 4 touchdowns with a 155.8 passer rating. Still, a section of the media is not willing to accept the difference Tua brings to South Beach. Waddle disagrees.

His preparation throughout the week and games has really expanded. He makes us look good. Probably 90% of the time, he allows us to get the ball and puts it in the perfect position to make crazy plays.

Jaylen Waddle hailed Tua Tagovailoa as a great leader

There will always be criticism regarding player performances, no matter how good they are. Even seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady was no exception. That’s exactly what Colin Cowherd thinks.

The veteran FOX analysts claimed that Tua is a product of Mike McDaniel’s system rather than being a good quarterback himself. But Waddle differs from Cowherd’s point of view.

He’s just growing his knowledge of the game. Being more vocal, from the O-line to the running backs to the receivers.

Tagovailoa’s start to the 2023 season is nothing short of exemplary. In six games, he is only 24 yards short of touching the 1900 passing yards mark with an average completion of 71%.
