Tom Brady is an absolute superstar, the kind of player who multiplies the popularity of the sport many folds. Passing yards, completions, touchdown passes, or games started, the man has got numbers that seem too good to be true in almost all facets of the game. Not long ago, Tom Brady shocked the NFL world when he announced that he is retiring from the sport.

It felt like an era has ended. However, Brady shocked the world yet again when he decided to return to his favorite sport in a matter of weeks and is now all set to lead the Bucs in the coming season.

Although there is no doubt about the fact that Tom is indeed one of the greats of the game, he has often made the headlines for non-football related stuff as well among which is his friendship with the former President of America Donald Trump. Recently, in an interaction with Variety, Brady talked in detail about his relationship with Trump and how it has been perceived.

The world knows that Trump is someone who doesn’t hold back when it comes to expressing exactly what he feels about someone or something. As a result, he has attracted a lot of flak in the past so when the news of Brady’s relationship with Donald made the headlines, Tom was also criticized by many.

Talking about how the press ‘made’ him look a very close friend of Trump, Tom said, “my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws. I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws. There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t.

There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t. I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye. I don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either,” he stated.

One specific story that had really caught the public eye was a “Make America Great Again” hat finding its way to Tom’s locker room. “He (Trump) always gives me a call and different types of motivational speeches at different times. So now that he’s running for president, he sent me a hat, and he gave it to Patriots owner Robert Kraft a couple weeks ago. So it found its way to my locker,” Tom had told WEEI radio station in his defense, however, the controversy did end up attracting a lot of reactions.
