San Francisco 49ers have made it to their second straight NFC Championship game!
The 49ers defeated the Cowboys 19-12 in the divisional playoff game. Both teams played subpar football, but the 49ers made the perfect decisions at the crucial moments in the game, unlike Dallas, who had more than one questionable play.
The 49ers-Cowboys matchup was touted to be a nail-biting game with touchdowns on every other drive from both sides since Brock Purdy was on his hot streak of winning and Dak Prescott had that near-perfect game against Tampa Bay last week. However, neither rose up to the occasion, as most of the points were scored by the special teams.

Following Dallas Cowboys’ shameful defeat, the 49ers players couldn’t stop trolling them. First, star wide receiver Deebo Samuel took a shot at the Cowboys‘ rising sensation, Micah Parsons, by tagging him in an Instagram post with the caption “Don’t poke the bear.” This started a small fight between the two on Instagram, with Parsons hitting back at Samuel. “Lol what did you do today fam lol ?! But congrats on the win ! But don’t put me in this weak ass slide,” Parsons said.
Now, defensive end Nick Bosa has joined in and trolled Dak Prescott and Co. for losing to them for the second time in the playoffs. “Americas team strikes again,” Bose wrote with a picture of him in a domineering stance. The 25-year-old defensive end out of Ohio State has been having a dream season and is on his way to becoming the Defensive Player of the Year. Nick Bosa had 51 total tackles in the regular season and recorded 18.5 sacks highest in the league, but saw a drop in production as he has only one sack in the last four games.
Dallas Cowboys is also known as America’s Team after their unmatched domination in the 90s. Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin, also known collectively as “The Triplets” led the Cowboys to three Super Bowl wins. Fans coined the nickname thinking that the Cowboys were going to create a dynasty, but it all went downhill after 1995.
After winning their fifth Super Bowl, the Cowboys kind of went from best to worst. The team kept losing season one after another and even though they kept making playoff appearances, the Cowboys never made it past the divisional round. It has been 28 years since Dallas reached the NFC Championship, which has made fans believe that they aren’t America’s team anymore.
Jerry Jones was really disappointed in his team after the loss which he is practically every year, but the defeat against the 49ers might be the last straw for him. It definitely looks like Jones is going to fire a lot of people in the coming weeks. So watch out for an interesting offseason in Dallas’ camp!
