Stephen A. Smith made a special guest appearance at Drake and J. Cole‘s ‘Big as the What?’ concert. The theme of the event was the fusion of music and sports, which is probably why the famous sports presenter was featured during the show.
Appearing as a guest, the ‘First Take‘ contributor didn’t hold back, delivering his trademark critique. It was set up in such a way that it appeared Smith was doing a live session while Drake and J. Cole were rapping on stage.

Social media personality BenDaDonnn, who has collaborated with famous rappers on Instagram, organized the entire ordeal. The video even wowed Smith himself. He retweeted the video from his X (formerly Twitter) account. He wrote:
To my brothers [J. Cole and Drake]. Appreciate the love, fellas. Honored to have helped out in my small little way. Much love to y’all both.Stephen A. Smith wrote
Drake talked about the collaboration of rap and sports. Both he and Cole touched upon the competitive nature of the genres.
The rap game is a tough thing to be a part of. It’s kind of like sports. You do your best to make people happy, and you do your best to compete. You do your best to put food on your family’s table. This show really isn’t about me. It isn’t really about Cole. This show is about each and every one of y’all.Drake said
Stephen A. Smith once tried to end Drake’s feud with another rapper
Last year, in October, retired rapper Joe Budden called out Drake for being an immature songwriter and singer. Budden labeled the 37-year-old as someone who wrote songs for kids. It got under his skin, and the pair began to tweet.

Drake fired back, saying Budden failed music. Not only that, he called the 43-year-old the “poster child of frustration and surrendering.“
Smith tried to mediate between the two individuals. Even though people prefer not to interfere in personal matters, music can’t be personal.

Smith said on his podcast:
Drake speaks up for himself, which he has every right to do. I, too, try never to get personal. but it’s not their personal business. Talk about music and stuff like that. All I can say is that let’s try to come together. We have enough friction in this world.Stephen A. Smith said
The veteran analyst is an avid listener of hip-hop music. During an exclusive interview with The Root, Smith listed his top 5 rap artists, which included Big E, 2Pac, Jay-Z, Run-DMC, and LL Cool J.
