“Can’t bet against the Swifties!” $250 million worth Drake places a massive $1.15 million bet on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl over the 49ers

Drake is no stranger to placing big-money bets. But there’s one person he will never bet against, and that is Taylor Swift, or, to put it more bluntly, the Swifties.
Well, it could be that he did not want to bet against a friend who’s dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Or possibly he understands the power of Swift’s followers, who cherish the 14-time Grammy winner as a goddess.
Now onto the wager itself. Usually, one doesn’t bet a million dollars on a zero-sum game when the outcome can very well go against what one predicts. But when the individual is Drake, they can, and he did.
Via his Instagram account, @Champagnepapi shared a screenshot of the bet, which showed that the 37-year-old bet $1.2 million on the Chiefs winning their third Super Bowl in five years. He captioned the picture with “I can’t bet against the swifties.” If Patrick Mahomes does manage to pull it off, then Darke would take home around $2.3 million.
The San Francisco 49ers must be overjoyed after hearing the news. Why? Only two words: ‘Drake Curse.’
What is the Drake Curse?
The ‘Know Yourself’ composer is a well-respected individual in the music community. Yet even he has a few scorpions hidden in his closet. He probably won’t admit it, but there’s a phenomenon called the ‘Drake Curse.’
In layman’s terms, whomever and whatever Drake puts his wager on, the opposite happens. Last month, he bet $700,000 on former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland. He was expecting a $1.3 million return, but Strickland failed to beat his opponent, Dricus du Plessis. Even before that, he had bet on Israel Adesanya to beat Strickland in UFC 293; the result was the same.
Another excellent example of the ‘Drake Curse’ at work was before MLB star Shohei Ohtani‘s record-breaking trade. The Japanese baseball star’s time with the Los Angeles Angels came to an end, and rumors started to flow about where he would play in the 2024 season.
Drake got in on the act and claimed that the two-way star would be moving to his favorite Toronto Blue Jays. And like clockwork, a few days later, the news came that Ohtani had joined the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was never close to becoming a Blue Jay.
The ‘Portland’ singer once put an $850,000 wager on Logan Paul beating Dillon Danis with a knockout in October. Paul won by disqualification, and the bet became null and void. These news stories should be encouraging for 49ers fans.
