On Thursday night, the New Orleans Saints, led by their new franchise quarterback DerekCarr,r squared off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their Week 7 matchup. The Saints are playing back in the Superdome following a couple of away games, and the stars are back in town to catch the game. One of them is former Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

The Saints legend and 1-time Super Bowl winner Drew Brees was back at the Superdome and brought his family to watch his former team take on the Jaguars in the Thursday night football game.

In a short video shared by the NFL’s official account on the social media platform X, Brees, who was wearing an all-black outfit with white sneakers, could be seen walking on the field before the Jaguars-Saints game. He took a selfie with someone and quickly walked away from there. The brief video went viral online and accumulated more than 326k views within hours. Check out the footage attached below.

Fans were hoping the aura of the best player in their franchise’s history might help the Saints offense have a good outing in the game, but so far they were struggling a lot for the majority of the game. Some fans even joked that the 44-year-old former QB might need to suit up in black and gold for the Saints to have a chance at winning the game.

However, Derek Carr and the New Orleans-based football team’s offense managed to find some life in the fourth quarter of the game. They are now looking to register their fourth victory of the ongoing season and take control of the weak NFC South division.

Drew Brees is a legend in New Orleans

The former NFL quarterback Drew Brees had a remarkable career in the NFL that spanned two decades. Brees spent 15 of those 20 years in New Orleans and led them to a Super Bowl victory.

Brees has registered 13 Pro Bowl seasons and was selected to the first-team All-Pro squad once in his career. In addition, he has also won the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP once with the Saints. Brees put up massive numbers during his time, and as a result, he leads the rankings in many quarterback statistics.

The future Hall of Famer announced his retirement back in 2020 and was working as an analyst with the NBC Network. But the former quarterback has now taken a break from his career as an analyst to focus on his personal life and spend time with his family.
