Legendary QB Drew Brees discloses he can’t throw with his right hand anymore

The former New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees, had a shocking revelation for his fans. During his appearance on ESPN’s Radio Greeny show, the legendary QB said that he could have still been active in the NFL if he had not suffered a major shoulder injury in 2005.
Brees, 44, presently enjoying his retirement, had his major stint with the likes of the San Diego Chargers and the New Orleans. Starting his professional career with the Chargers, the QB shifted to the Saints in 2006. He had a 15-year-long career at the Saints. The quarterback took his football boots off in 2020.
In the middle of the conversation with Evan Cohen for Greeny, the Super XLIV-winning former QB revealed that he lost his throwing ability with his right hand. It was a result of the major shoulder injury that he had gone through in 2005. The QB dislocated his shoulder, which left a permanent scar on his career.
Look, I'll let you in on a little fact. I don't throw with my right arm anymore. My right arm does not work. So, when I throw in the backyard right now, I throw left-handed.
Brees also revealed he was asked by a few teams to play for them after their retirement. However, that did not happen because the shoulder permanently made his right hand ineffective. revealed
In the overall 20 years of his stint, the QB registered 571 touchdown passes and covered 80,358 passing yards in regular seasons. Brees finished his career with a 67.7% passing completion rate. To top as an all-time legend of the league, he was also Super Bowl MVP XLIV.

As the injury left a big scar, Brees is venturing into other sports and has shifted to pickleball from football. He made his appearance on ESPN’s Green radio show to promote Pickleball further.
I can play pickleball because it's below the waist, but anything above my shoulder I have a hard time with.
He already played a pickleball event with tennis legend John McEnroe earlier. The QB promoted that event as well.
The QB got crucial medical help from Dr. James Andrews, who repaired his shoulder. He used 12 anchors to repair completely 360 tears of Brees’ labrum. Additionally, the doctor also repaired a partial tear in the rotator cuff. Almost twenty years down the line, Brees still holds his gratitude to Dr. Andrews. The legendary QB said,
I owe Dr. Andrews a lot.
Brees’ connection to the Saints was an accident. It was the Miami Dolphins who backed out last concerning his shoulder trouble, and the Saints drafted him. Brees ended up being a legend for the team.
