“DK is DAMN impressive”: Drew Lock is in awe of star receiver DK Metcalf

Drew Lock is hoping a change of scenery will change his fortunes in the NFL. Since being drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 2nd round of the 2019 NFL draft Lock hadn’t had the best of times but after being traded to the Seattle Seahawks, Lock is making a new beginning.

With this new beginning comes new teammates and one teammate, in particular, has impressed Lock so far. DK Metcalf the Seahawk’s star wide receiver is one of the best wide receivers in the game and Lock can’t help but admire his talents. Metcalf recently signed a 3-year $72 million extension.

“Deserves every penny he just got”: Drew Lock on DK Metcalf

“We got together, threw a couple of times,” Lock said of Metcalf. “He was impressive. I was happy that I got to before we got out here because he’s unlike anything I’ve ever thrown to. He’s a really impressive player and he deserves every penny that he just got.”

Lock and Metcalf both were drafted in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft and share a comradery over it per Lock “Me and him are one of those two, I think maybe three guys, that were in that draft room that night that didn’t get drafted in that first round. So, we both have that little chip on our shoulder, we both have felt that pain, and have felt what it feels like to be in that situation, and we’ve talked about it since, and it’s something that we both keep in the back of our minds quite a bit.”

Metcalf has had a better fate in the NFL than Lock catching 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns over the last three seasons which has made him one of the best WRs in the game.

Currently, Lock is in a QB competition with veteran Geno Smith for starting QB position. Let’s see who takes place under centre when the Seahawks begin their campaign against Lock’s former team the Denver Broncos on the 13th of September.
