Colts TE Drew Ogletree arrested on charges of domestic battery, reportedly ‘body slammed’ the victim

The Indianapolis Colts‘ TE Drew Ogletree was arrested on Friday with the charges of domestic battery, according to Hendricks Country (Ind.) court records. The 25-year-old tight end was accused of domestic abuse that caused moderate physical harm and domestic abuse that was done in front of a minor who was younger than 16 years old.
Ogletree was booked at 3:42 p.m. on Friday, hours after the Colts concluded practice, according to The Indianapolis Star. When police arrived at the scene of a reported domestic trouble, they discovered a female victim who was in pain and immobile. She was brought to a nearby hospital. Ogletree was held without bond, as per the court records.

The Colts released a statement regarding the situation on Friday. The statement read:
We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree. The team takes these matters seriously. We have notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time."Indianapolis Colts’ statement
According to reports, the victim was “body slammed” following an argument and left in a lot of pain.
The tight end was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He plays in the Colts’ special teams as well and has started nine games so far this season. He has accumulated 147 yards on 9 receptions and has scored a couple of touchdowns.

Drew Ogletree, the Indianapolis Colts’ TE, was arrested on Friday on charges of domestic battery. He was charged with two felonies as he turned himself in on charges of domestic violence committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury.

The NFL has taken action against the 25-year-old tight end. He has been placed on the Commissioner‘s Exempt list and may not attend the team’s games or practice during that time. The NFL’s statement read:
The National Football League today placed Drew Ogletree of the Indianapolis Colts on the Commissioner Exempt List following an incident this week. Ogletree may not practice or attend games while on the list.NFL’s statement
Ogletree, who was chosen by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2022 draft, is currently in his second season. An ACL tear he suffered during training camp caused his rookie season to end before it began.
