Chiefs LB Drue Tranquill shares SHOCKING insight about Patrick Mahomes from team’s practice sessions

Patrick Mahomes is one of the most formidable names in the NFL. The quarterback’s record speaks for itself, as he has already won two Super Bowls and signed one of the largest contracts in league history. However, more interestingly, what separates him from the others is his passing abilities. Pat Mahomes can just throw the ball in some ridiculous fashion, no matter how many linemen he has rushing toward him, and still somehow manages to get the ball into the hands of his wideouts.

Drue Tranquill, the former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker who has witnessed the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s greatness while going against him, is now getting first-hand experience of what it is like to play with him. He is the newest member of the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Drue Tranquill saw some of Mahomes’ throws while going against him and could not help but be amazed. However, once he joined the team, he became accustomed to witnessing greatness on a daily basis.

“You just see these highlight throws that are up every year, year after year. Those throws aren’t just one-off things that he makes in a big-time game. He seems to make those throws every day in practice.,” Drew told NFL Total Access. The linebacker goes on to add, “Every day I’m either out there or getting break on the sideline and I’m just like, Wow. What a throw. What a talent.”

Drue Tranquill has gotten used to witnessing Patrick Mahomes throw ridiculous passes in practice

Patrick Mahomes has made some of the most breathtaking passes fans have seen. Over the years, he has mastered the no-look pass, a feat he first successfully attempted in his rookie season against the Denver Broncos.

Interestingly enough, this game also happened to be the first time he started. Then there was the underhanded pass to Travis Kelce in an AFC Championship game in 2021 against the Buffalo Bills. 

With that being said, let’s take a look at some of these incredible passes. 

He is just wired differently, and when you see him do these things in the midst of games, one cannot help but admire the man. But the problem with witnessing greatness every day is that once you get used to it, you don’t value it as much. And that’s exactly what Drue Tranquill is going through.

The linebacker who was wooed into becoming a Chief by none other than Head Coach Andy Reid is looking to have a significant impact on the team. Of course, Patrick Mahomes played a big part in helping him make his decision to join the team and get on the winning side. From playing alongside Justin Herbert, another star in the making, to Patrick Mahomes, it will be a pleasant change for the linebacker. However, he is very excited about what the upcoming season has in store.

Tranquill had nothing but positive things to state about his new QB, “I’ve enjoyed getting to chat with him a few times. Really enjoyed competing against him. He’s just an incredible talent.”
