“She cut his lip open once”: Dwayne Haskins’ parents skip son’s funeral saying they never met his wife Kalabrya who had ‘physically assaulted’ Dwayne in the past

Dwayne Haskins Jr. tragically passed away in a road accident a few days back. The talented quarterback played in the NFL for three seasons and was just starting to show his real prowess on the field. He played college football at Ohio State, where he had impressed one and all with his performances.
The 24-year-old quarterback was crossing the highway when he was hit by a dump truck. Tributes from around the world started pouring in as soon as the news of Dwayne’s demise started making rounds on social media.
“We have never met or spoken to his wife”: Dwayne Haskins’ parents
According to the Associated Press, Kalabrya Haskins had called Florida 911 where she had claimed that Dwayne’s car has ran out of gas and he isn’t picking up her call. Later on, the officials informed her that her husband, unfortunately, died in a tragic accident.
Not long ago, Kalabrya released a statement on Twitter that gave the details about Dwayne’s funeral. It was attended by Dwayne’s coaches, teammates, and loved ones. She also thanked people for their endless love and support. However, as it turns out, Dwayne’s parents decided not to attend their son’s funeral.
Recently, as reported by ESPN, a statement released by a spokesperson for the Haskins family read, “We have never met or spoken to the wife, and we didn’t want our son’s funeral service to be the place we met her for the first time.”
This did come as a surprise to many who aren’t aware of the family dynamics among the Haskins. As it turns out, Dwayne and Kalabrya had a lot of issues when they were together. There were reports of a physical altercation between the two that eventually ended in a felony charge as well last year.
Dwayne had told a security guard at a hotel, “She hit me and cut my lip open.” The police report confirmed the incident and said that “Dwayne’s mouth looked bruised and would most certainly require dental work to repair his teeth,” as reported by The Sun.
