The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a devastating defeat during their Super Bowl clash against the Kansas City Chiefs last season falling short by a margin of 35-38. The defeat meant that the Eagles failed to win what would be their second-ever Super Bowl, and although it has been more than four months since the game was played, the wound is still fresh in the memories of their players.

Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes led his side to victory in the titular clash, despite not being at his best after suffering an ankle injury during their divisional playoff final against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The injury became a central talking point throughout the postseason, as doubt lingered on the 27-year-old’s participation during the business end of the season.

Mahomes chose to play in the Super Bowl LVII, but as fate would have it, suffered yet another blow to his ankle in the second quarter of the game courtesy of a tackle from Philadelphia Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards. Mahomes had to eventually limp off the gridiron, after getting hurt on the exact same ankle, he had injured during their clash against the Jaguars a couple of weeks back.

However, the Philadelphia Eagles defensive end, Brandon Graham, who was present on the pitch, pointed out his reservations on the extent of Mahomes’ injury and whether he was hurt badly to be limping off the pitch.

During his interaction on JAKIB Sports’ Sports Take program with Derrick Gunn and Rob Ellis blatantly stated that he felt, Mahomes was acting out his injury, pretending to be unfit. Brandon Graham also revealed that the Eagles’ defenders planned on tackling him in the second half, but the quarterback came out all guns blazing to win it for his side eventually.

“When the first half came [to an end], we were in there and I was more thinking like, ‘What’s his name (Mahomes) went in there on the sideline and he’s looking like he’s hurt. We’ve got to get to him, we’ve got to get to him.’ He came out, you can tell how tough he is, man, but that boy acted good. He sure put that face-up, Graham said on Mahomes’ injury.

Mahomes is currently among the hottest properties in the National Football League. He performed exceptionally during the Super Bowl LVII encounter, registering 21 successful throws alongside his three touchdowns and 182 passing yards.
