Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season is on! On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles led by their star quarterback Jalen Hurts took on the defending NFC North champions Minnesota Vikings. During the game, the Philly crowd once again proved to be a tough crowd to impress as they started booing their own quarterback after he threw an interception.
During the 1st quarter of the game, the Eagles were leading by 3 points and were facing a 3rd and 16 around midfield. The Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts took a shot to wide receiver DeVonta Smith, but it was intercepted by the Vikings defensive back Theo Jackson. Following the interception, the Philly crowd rained boos aimed at their QB Hurts.
The decision by Hurts to throw into double coverage was questionable, but he was simply taking a shot during a 3rd and long situation. Nonetheless, the raining boos come just 5 quarters after Jalen Hurts nearly led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory against the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year. Check out the footage attached below.
The Pro Bowl QB Hurts and the Philadelphia-based football team also won their week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots last week. Still, the tough Philly crowd booed their franchise quarterback for a simple mistake in the first quarter of the game.
Anyhow, Hurts recovered well and has accumulated 3 total touchdowns in the game so far for the Eagles. As a result, the Eagles have taken a strong 27-14 lead against the Minnesota-based football team with just a few minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Jalen Hurts uses his dual threat ability to recover swiftly after the interception
After throwing an interception in the first quarter itself, the Eagles’ star quarterback Jalen Hurts used his dual-threat ability to recover and help his team take a commanding lead over the Vikings.
So far, in the game, Hurts has thrown for 168 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. In addition, he has also rushed for 32 yards and 2 touchdowns while averaging 2.9 yards per attempt.
Furthermore, the Eagles running back D’Andre Swift is also having a great game as he has rushed for over a hundred yards while averaging almost 6 yards per carry. The running game has been the big difference between the Eagles and the Vikings so far in their week 2 matchup.
Nonetheless, with just one quarter left in the game, the Vikings are looking to erase a 13-point deficit, but the Eagles are doing a good job at controlling the clock with their ground game.
