The Philadelphia Eagles, led by their franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts, are going through a rough stretch of weeks as they have suffered 3 consecutive losses after starting the season with a strong 10-1 record. Amidst their consecutive losses, new reports suggest that the Eagles have some internal concerns regarding their starting signal-caller.

During a recent episode of unCovering the Birds from The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles insider Jeff McLane talked about the teams’ concern with Jalen Hurts. But he made sure to mention it wasn’t an issue between Hurts and other players.

Team sources said the Eagles want their franchise quarterback to open himself up a little more in the locker room. Players like and respect Hurts. The team doesn't have to worry about him off the field.
McLane said

McLane went on to say that the Eagles do want Hurts to be himself, but they also want to see the 25-year-old quarterback show more outward leadership and be open with his teammates, instead of isolating himself.

The Eagles want him to be authentic to himself, but they also need him to not isolate himself as much when a more outward leadership style is necessary, especially when the going gets tough.
McLane revealed

Despite the issues, McLane noted that the team doesn’t doubt Hurts’ ability, work ethic, and willingness to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory. But, they just want Hurts to be more open with his teammates in the locker room and the sidelines, especially when they are struggling. Besides, it is normal for reports to break out about internal concerns when the team is going on a losing streak.

Jalen Hurts questioned teammates’ commitments after third straight loss

The reports about Jalen Hurts and the internal concerns come just a few days after the Eagles quarterback questioned his teammates’ commitment after a loss against the Seattle Seahawks in MNF.

I don't think we're all committed enough.Just got to turn it around. You know, it's a challenge that we have to embrace.
Hurts said during the post-game press conference

The Pro Bowl quarterback played the Eagles’ MNF game through illness and couldn’t lead his team to outscore the Seahawks. As a result, they suffered a loss and fell to a 10-4 record.

Now, they will be focused on breaking their losing streak by defeating their NFC East division rivals, the New York Giants, who they will be facing this Monday in their week 16 matchup.
