Jalen Hurts‘ growth as a star QB has been brilliant. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ signal-caller led his team all the way to the Super Bowl last year and came agonizingly close to winning it. He has carried that form into this season as well as the Eagles, through eight weeks of the season, have the best record in the league.
Hurts was drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After spending his first season as backup to Carson Wentz, he was named as the Eagles’ starting QB at the start of the 2021 season. After a mediocre first season as the team’s starting QB, Hurts and the Eagles took off in 2022, going 14-1 in that season enroute to a Super Bowl. Head coach Nick Sirianni has raved about his QB on multiple occasions during last season.

Sirianni compared Hurts’ work ethic to a certain Michael Jordan. He described his ability to play through a shoulder injury last season as “Michael Jordan–type s—.” When asked about it, Sirianni said. The head coach said:
You can ask him how he’s feeling. There’s never been a question of his game status or his practice status. He’s got bumps and bruises right now, which a lot of our guys have. He has them. I’ll let you ask him how he feels and this and that, but he’s tough as heck. He shows that on a daily basis, consistently, daily, over and over and over again, how tough he is.
The Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday in their week 9 matchup. Both these teams are contenders this season and the Eagles will look to make it 8-1 for the season. Hurts so far this season has 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions with a passer rating of 94.3.
Jalen Hurts talks about the Eagles’ 7-1 record
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are 7-1 this season. They have carried their regular season form from last season to this season. The Eagles won 14 games in the regular season last year. Hurts talked about the team’s 7-1 record and the offense’s execution to achieve that.

Hurts said:
I think it’s just pure execution and just going out there and making it go. I don’t measure numbers and all of that based off our success or whatever it is. It’s just about winning, and so, obviously, a lot of great things are going on. I can acknowledge that. But it means nothing if you don’t win.
The Eagles are in prime position to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl again this season. They lost in heartbreaking fashion last year to the Kansas City Chiefs and will hope to win it all this season.
