The Philadelphia Eagles hired former Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers Kellen Moore as their new offensive coordinator recently. Moore replaced Brian Johnson, who was fired earlier this week.

This move comes a few days after the Eagles appointed Vic Fangio as their new defensive coordinator. But is it the end of the overhaul that Nick Sirianni foreshadowed a few days ago? Moore’s inclusion does signal the idea that the Eagles will go all guns blazing in the new season.

After just one season with the Chargers, Kellen Moore decided to move away from Los Angeles. Before that, he was part of the Cowboys set-up from 2019 to 2022. Under his guidance, the Cowboys offense ranked in the top four in points per game (27.7), yards per game (391), and third-down conversion percentage (44%).

The 35-year-old has his work cut out when he formally takes over. His first course of action would be to get quarterback Jalen Hurts‘ confidence back.

Hurts fell apart in the latter half of the season, resulting in an offensive chaos of failures. He threw a career-high 15 interceptions, and the Eagles slipped from third (28.1) in scoring points per game to seventh (25.5).

Sirianni’s men won 10 of their first 11 games but lost 5 of the remaining 6 to finish 11-6. As a result, they missed out on winning the NFC East title, which they led for the majority of the season, and lost out on the #1 seed. Not only that, but they crashed out of the wildcard following an ugly 9-32 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Football fans are skeptical that Moore, who failed to uplift the mood in LA, could turn the situation around in Philadelphia.

Amidst all the negative trolls, there were a few who backed Eagles, adding Kellen Moore. Here they are,

Moore’s departure creates a big hole in the Chargers coaching crew. Jim Harbaugh is set to take charge of the Bolts as their head coach. Now they have to look for someone who could take over the offensive playcalling, or could Harbaugh himself call the plays? It won’t surprise many, which will also benefit their quarterback, Justin Herbert.
