Aaron Rodgers‘ trade to the New York Jets from the Green Bay Packers caused a lot of hype and excitement in the Big Apple and the NFL world in general. The future Hall of Famer was traded to the Jets this offseason, ending his 18-year tenure with the Green Bay Packers. The anticipation is palpable in New York as the Jets are expected to take a giant leap towards their playoff hopes this season.

However, former NFL linebacker and current Fox Sports 1 analyst, Emmanuel Acho believes the Jets’ ”Honeymoon phase” will be over once they face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 on September 12. “The honeymoon phase I believe will only last a quarter, maybe a half, as soon as they see those Buffalo Bills week 1,” Acho said on the show Speak on FS1.

He further elaborated the reason for the same saying, “As soon as they see Von Miller coming of the edge, (Matt) Milano at linebacker, Tre’Davious White, Micah Hyde in the backend, Jordan Poyer in the backend and if Damar Hamlin happens to start if Micah Hyde is still recovering, the honeymoon phase I believe will come to an abrupt end in New York with the Jets.”

The Jets open their campaign on 12th September when they host the Buffalo Bills and their superstar quarterback Josh Allen. Bills are a strong contender to play in the Super Bowl come February next year and it will be a tough match-up for the Jets.

Rodgers will be hoping to take the Jets to the playoffs after an impressive season for the team last year. The New York-based team already has the offensive and defensive ROTYs in Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner respectively and will be an exciting team to watch with one of the greatest quarterbacks calling the shots at center. Only time will tell if the honeymoon phase lasts for a long time or comes to an end in week 1.

After spending the majority of his career in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers is now in the Big Apple. He is the veteran quarterback of a young Jets team and is looking forward to helping the young guys on the roster. The Jets open their season on September 12 against the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In a sideline interview during the Jets’ 21-16 defeat to the Cleveland Browns in the HOF game, Aaron Rodgers talked about the Jets and the upcoming season. “I’m loving helping Zach (Wilson), Tim (Boyle) and Chris (Streveler), been a lot of fun,” he said in that interview.

Rodgers also talked about the $35 million pay cut he took to help the team and his love for the organization. This is a new environment for Rodgers, but the early indications are he is loving his time in New York and the pay cut only solidifies his want to win with this group.

There is excitement in New York with the arrival of Aaron Rodgers and the expectations for the upcoming season have increased. Postseason football on the green side of New York is a genuine possibility this season, with Rodgers as the signal caller and a young, hungry roster ready to make its mark.
