The Buffalo Bills are probably going through one of the most rough patches in their recent footballing history. They started their campaign well, won three of their first four, and triggered hopes of winning the Lombardi Trophy among fans. However, they lost all their momentum midway through the season as the team has now lost five of their first ten encounters. Presently, they are holding a 5-5 record. Their latest loss came against a ‘weak’ Denver Broncos last week.
A lot of analysts have raised their eyebrows over the performance of the Bills in the past few games. They are the same analysts who once considered the Bills one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. However, they are now turning their faces away from the team. Among these analysts, Emmanuel Acho believes that the Bills have no hopes left for their Lombardi dream.
Acho reasoned why Allen most probably won’t be able to take his team to the Super Bowl this season. He provided some statistics to back his claim.
The Super Bowl window in my mind is completely shut. That's the worst record (5-5) to start a season since Josh Allen's rookie year. Let me provide some imperial data to Josh why I think the Bills Super Bowl window is closed. Three year run, usually you are three years stretched to get something done in the NFL unless you are a dynasty. Roasters on average they turnover 33% every year.Josh Allen on Speak
Over the last few seasons, the Bills made it to two divisional games and one championship game. During these seasons, Allen’s team had a far better start to their regular season campaign.
So let's look at some of the windows for reference. If you do not get it done in three years you better anticipate a colossal change. So Bills, their three year window 2020, 2021, 2022. The went to one championship game and two divisional games, did not get it done.
Acho further emphasized what happened with other teams that failed to win the Super Bowl in three years. He highlighted how things changed for the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons after they failed to win the Lombardi in a three-year run.
Josh Allen failed to lead his team in hard times
Despite having a pretty good season, Josh Allen, the Bills quarterback failed to lead this Bills team to seal things this season. Allen has the highest number of touchdowns this season. However, that does not wash away the fact that he was too casual in some moments. His high rate of turnovers and interceptions cost the Bills badly.
Considering the example of the Broncos game, Allen was poor in the first half covering just 85 yards with an interception. He got a good opportunity to lead in the third quarter when the score was tied 15-15, however, he lost the ball courtesy of a fumble. Throughout the game, the Bills turned the ball over 5 times which eventually cost them the game.

Josh Allen, in the press conference, tried to acknowledge the issue and didn’t shy away from taking the blame for the Bills’ offensive woes
Turnover wise, it's abysmal when we lose, and there there's no secret to that. So … it's not like it's broken. We're not, we're not a broken offense. we're not a broken team. but the splits compared to when we win and when we lose are massive.Josh Allen
If fumbles and turnovers were responsible for the loss against the Broncos then injuries were responsible for halting their progress in the league. The Bills defense line got shattered by injuries and lost momentum in crucial fixtures. They now face the Jets this week in a crucial encounter.
