The Houston Texans have impressed everyone with their stellar performance this season. They are up by 6-4 and some analysts are considering them the possible Playoff contender. Emmanuel Acho is one of them. In the recent episode of the show, ‘SPEAK,’ the analyst rated the team very highly.
I was saying the Houston Texans are the legit contenders. We have seen them smack the Jags (Jacksonville Jaguars). The Jags are going to make it to the playoffs. At least as things stand right now.
Acho further added:
We saw them smack the Bengals. The Bengals are striking hard. We have seen C.J. Stroud leading the comeback drives against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Bengals. So we have seen check them the necessity boxes that need to check.
There is hardly any doubt that the Houston Texans, under the leadership of C. J. Stroud, have emerged as one of the favorites this season. The win against the Bengals was the real clutch one. It was a hard-fought victory and Stroud led the drive with his insane efforts. He single-handedly made a striking difference between the two ends.
Stroud was brilliant against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well. With five touchdowns and 470 yards in his tally during the game, he emerged as one of the favorites for the ‘Offensive Rookie of the Year’ award.
The Texans are presently standing in the second position of the AFC South Division with 6-4 record. They have some interesting fixtures in the coming time. After their bye week, the team will face the Denver Broncos on the next Sunday. Next week, the team will be heading against the Jaguars.
C.J. Stroud for the MVP award?
Stroud’s name is popping up in the prospective MVP-award winners’ list since his entry to the league. The quarterback is presently at the 12th spot among the quarterback power rankings. With 17 touchdowns for nearly 3,000 yards, he can be a good bet for the MVP award.
He also got support from notable NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe on ESPN’s First Take last week. Seeing his game-winning drive against the Bengals, the NFL Hall-of-fame said,
C.J Stroud has played the best QB in the NFL this season. Yes, he’s been that good and I said it. Go argue in a cave with your echo. Could become 1st rookie 2 win MVP since J. Brown in 1957.
Despite being the favorite for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, Stroud’s performance also compelled some analysts to raise their eyebrows. He still has some ‘rookie’ problems. In addition to this, the QB registered some interceptions lately. If he continues to have these, then his MVP chances will come under threat.
