The former NFL player and sports analyst Emmanuel Acho has given his flowers to the upcoming professional player Caleb Williams. He said that the USC Trojans’ quarterback Caleb Williams is the best QB at the college level he has ever seen. From the sets of the popular analytical show, ‘Undisputed,’ the former athlete was heard saying this.
“Just looking at the tape, he is the best quarterback I have ever seen,” Acho said in the latest segment of the show. His remark shocked the other panelists. One of them asked him if he was talking about his lifetime. The former Philadelphia Eagles‘ LB agreed to the question by saying that yes in his lifetime he has not seen anyone better than Williams at the college level.
Acho is famous for passing his remarks on footballers. A few days ago, he suggested the Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow return to the field in the first week of the NFL, as the quarterback could not afford to sit on the bench. Burrow had recently picked up an injury at the practice session of the team. However, Burrow was spotted in the field recently, which suggested that he is in the mode of his recovery.
Williams, on the other hand, has impressed everyone with his performance at the college level last season. He went on to win the Heisman trophy last season with the Trojans. Acho believes that he is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season as well. If he wins the trophy this season, he will join Ohio State’s Archie Griffin, who won the back-to-back Heisman trophy in 1974 and 1975.
Due to his form, the 21-year-old is expected to be drafted in the NFL season in the first round in the foreseen year. However, not everyone seems to be convinced about his future in the league. Analyst Skip Bayless said that his playing style is different from the playing styles fans get to see in the NFL.
Is Caleb Williams the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy again?
Williams had a brilliant sophomore season. The quarterback finished his season with a record of throwing for 4,537 yards and had 42 touchdowns. He ran for 382 yards and had 10 scores. He had eight games with 300 yards of passing. The QB’s number of interceptions is not very high which increases more public votes for him. He finished his season with only five interceptions.
To win the Heisman Trophy again, the athlete has to compete with players like Jayden Daniels, Quinn Ewers, and Jordan Travis among others. All of them had a pretty well sophomore season.
It is now to be seen whether Williams will win the trophy for the second time and make history or not.
