The Las Vegas Raiders won their sixth-week game against the New England Patriots last weekend and improved to a 3-3 record. But Davante Adams was seemingly not happy with his individual performance since he only caught two passes in the game. In Wednesday’s press conference ahead of their week 7 game against the Chicago Bears, Adams expressed his frustrations with his role on the team. And now, Emmanuel Acho has blasted Adams over his “selfish” comments.
“I have an issue with these comments,” said Acho. referring to Adams’ comments on Wednesday. Acho then went on to note how the Raiders receiver Davante Adams kept using the words “I” and “Me” instead of talking about the team.
Emmanuel Acho then went on to explain how Adams is impacting the Raiders games even if he’s not putting up massive numbers. The former NFL linebacker explained Adams getting double or triple-teamed leads to some other receiver in the team securing a big catch that, in return, is helping the Raiders to thrive.
“Davante Adams, you’re a part of the Raiders organization, whether or not you get catches, you are still impacting the game,” said Acho. “Davante, you might not get the ball, but somebody else gonna eat. . . I hate these comments because it reads to me as selfish.”
On Wednesday, Adams told ESPN that he is growing frustrated since he was not a part of the plan. He then went on to imply that he doesn’t care about wins and losses, but he cares about “greatness.” Adams hasn’t caught a single touchdown pass in the last three games and is visibly getting frustrated because of it.
Davante Adams has been quiet in 2023 for his standards
The Las Vegas Raiders’ All-Pro pass catcher, Davante Adams, has been one of the best players in the league over the last few years. However, Adams has had a very quiet start to his 2023 campaign.

Through the first six weeks, Adams has only registered 471 receiving yards, which is a very low number for his standards. The Pro Bowl receiver has only one 100-plus receiving yards in this season so far. The Raiders are certainly not using Adams to his full potential, and it seems to be causing a bit of chaos in the locker room.
Now, Adams would look to register his second 100-plus yards game this weekend, when the Las Vegas-based franchise square off against the Chicago Bears in their week seven matchup.
