“Treat these guys like sh*t,” Erin Andrews viciously attacks reporters for their harsh treatment on players

Erin Andrews has taken it upon herself to call out sections of the media for their inhumane behaviour with footballers. In today’s era, media interactions play a huge role in sport, with the spotlight permanently fixed on the players.

However, often it can be a bit too much for anyone to tackle especially after they’ve given it your all on the football pitch. Erin Andrews, who is herself in charge of conducting post and pre match interviews for Fox Sports wants to see more compassion from her colleagues.

While appearing on the iHeart podcast with Charissa Thompson, Andrews viciously attacked those in the media who want to make a name for themselves with catchy and obsessive interviews.

“I just have to get this off my chest,” Erin Andrews said. “There have been a few instances or circumstances lately and also during the year that I find myself getting on the phone with athletes after they happen.”

“You don’t have to be an a–hole. How about this? Stop worrying about trying to make a name for yourself or be clickbait with these questions that tie these guys down or put them in a bind or you want to be the person [who gets attention] in the press conference. Don’t do that.”

It appears as if, Erin Andrews was talking about a particular incident which happened with Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Giovani Bernard last month. The 31-year-old had a one of a kind interaction with one of the reporters, when he did not want to field questions after the match.

The video of the incident was shared online and it garnered a lot of interest from fans, which ultimately led to the reporter having to apologise. Such instances prove how brutal and ruthless the media can get especially after someone has suffered a devastating defeat. Erin Andrews has urged her colleagues to have more respect for the players and treat them with compassion.

“They’re not animals. They’re not pieces of meat. They are human,” Andrews said. “And I am just so frustrated with some of the shit I’m seeing. I know people out there, they want to make a name for themselves as reporters. And I know they want to kind of stick out. You stick out in a really bad way when you treat these guys like shit.”
