Jonathan Gannon, the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, took full responsibility for the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss over the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl. As per a report by the Athletic, the head coach of the Cardinals blamed himself for not doing his duty properly as a defensive coordinator for the Eagles.
It is pretty strange that Gannon, who did not say anything after the match had to open his mouth after seven months of the finals. He is now a new person with a new duty and going to make his debut as a coach very soon. “I’m the reason we lost the Super Bowl,” the former player and the present-day head coach admitted in the interview.
The last Super Bowl final was a nail-biting encounter. The game saw heroics from both ends. Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, started the game with decent attire. He covered over 400 yards and was responsible for all 35 points that the team gained in the final. However, he was unable to clinch the title for his team as the limelight was taken away by none other than Patrick Mahomes.
Despite having sprain on his ankles he was pivotal to gift his team 38 points. In the end the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 38-35. ‘The Eagles paid for their defensive inabilities. In the interview, the former player spoke about the struggles that the Eagles had when attackers from the Chiefs were rushing with momentum. That took the match away from them. Right after Gannon came up with his statement, Twitter got flooded with the words of the Eagles fans. They expressed their rage along with trolls and banters and other things.
Analysts seem doubtful about Jonathan Gannon’s coaching future

The analysts seem doubtful about Gannon’s coaching future in the NFL. This is going to be his first season as a coach and people do not have very high hopes for him. Sports Illustrated released the first coach of the season list and Gannon was spotted at the last. He ranked 32nd among 32 coaches in the NFL league. The sports journal considered him as the worst in the league.
The Cardinals are also facing some major internal issues. The team had done a golden handshake with some of its old players. The wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is one of them. In addition to this, they won’t be having Quarterback Kyler Murray till the second half of this season.
It is to be seen, whether Gannon can create magic with this team.
