Since his retirement earlier this year, fans of different teams have been trying to poach Tom Brady to play for their team. Brady however, seems to have retired for good. He played his last game in the NFL earlier this year against the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round. There have been rumors of him returning to the field ever since, but nothing seems to be a certainty.
Minnesota Vikings‘ quarterback, Kirk Cousins, recently suffered an Achilles injury that saw him ruled out for the rest of the season. The Vikings signed Josh Dobbs in the middle of the season to replace Cousins. Dobbs has done a great job so far for the Vikings. However, according to former New England Patriots QB Scott Zolak, Dobbs wasn’t the Vikings’ first choice to replace Brady.
Zolak said on his daily radio show on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston that the Vikings “reached out” to Brady. This claim was made in a segment where he and his co-host, Marc Bertrand were talking about the Cincinnati Bengals’ fans wanting Brady to replace their QB Joe Burrow after he was ruled out of the season due to a wrist injury. The former quarterback refused to offer any further speculations but confirmed that Brady “is done” from playing.
Brady played for the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his 23-year NFL career. He won seven Super Bowls and was named the league MVP three times. He won the Super Bowl MVP five times. Brady is the winningest quarterback in the NFL with 251 wins to his name.
Tom Brady doesn’t think the coaching in the NFL is ‘as good as it was’ before
Tom Brady is the GOAT. So when he says the NFL is wrapped in mediocrity, people should listen. In a recent interview with ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith on The Stephen A. Smith Show, Brady opened up about today’s NFL and talked about the coaching difference.
Brady said:
I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was. I don’t think the development of young players is as good as it was. I don’t think the schemes are as good as they were. The rules have allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game. . . . So I just think the product in my opinion is less than what it’s been.
Brady has signed a $35 million per year contract with FOX to call games from next year. He has expanded his business portfolio since retiring and will look to announce games from next season.
