Former NFL safety Earl Thomas was once considered as one of the best defensemen in the league. He played for the Seattle Seahawks for nine seasons and was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times. However, his career ended in 2019 after one season with the Baltimore Ravens. Thomas was apparently held at gunpoint by his then-wife, Nina Thomas when she found out about him cheating on her in 2020.

Since that incident, the couple have been separated and the former Seahawk is ordered to stay 400 feet away from his ex-wife. They share two children together. In the latest news, however, Nina Thomas’ boyfriend, Kevin J. Thompson was arrested for identifying himself as Earl Thomas in an alleged $1.9 million scam.

Thompson is accused of stealing Thomas’ identity and stealing from his bank accounts. He also transferred car ownership of several vehicles. According to Nola.com, Thompson faces charges “including identity theft, forgery, money laundering, credit card fraud, computer fraud and bank fraud.” Thompson allegedly used a fake driving license with Thomas’ information on it to make a fake bank account and cashed in the former safety’s NFL checks.

Thomas won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks and was a huge part of their ‘Legion of Boom’ defense. He was drafted by the Seahawks in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft and was selected to the All-Pro teams five times. He was arrested in 2022 for violating a court order by sending messages to a woman about her and her children.

Cliff Avril recalls Earl Thomas snapping on him during walkthroughs

The Seattle Seahawks‘ ‘Legion of Boom’ group was intense. They won a Super Bowl together. And it was a fun team to watch. It was certainly a fan favorite. Cliff Avril and Earl Thomas were both part of that incredible defense. Avril earlier this year shared a story about him and Thomas having a fight during practice.

Avril said on K.J. All Day podcast:

I think we had just lost to Kansas City ... E.T. (Earl Thomas) was intense all the time. Walk-throughs, he's full speed. I don't know what I did other than pop another sunflower seed and spit it back into my cup, and he just, out of nowhere, starts spazzing. ... Put them damn sunflower seeds up! Take that losing stuff back to Detroit!' Oh man, just going in! Mind you; this is only like Year 2 or 3 for him; I'm like Year 6, and like, 'Who the hell are you talking to, bruh?!'

Thomas accumulated 28 interceptions, 67 passes defended 11 forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries over 125 games in Seattle. He was widely regarded as one of the best safeties in the league in the 2010s.
