Former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has settled a 2021 lawsuit filed by a Frisco woman before it could go to trial, said an official on Monday. The lawsuit claimed that the Frisco woman was attacked by Elliott’s dog, which allegedly bit her.

Jennifer Gampper, who filed the lawsuit, reportedly sought more than $1 million in compensation. She claimed that the attack had left her with permanent injuries. Her attorney, Christopher Hamilton, later revealed in a written statement that there has been an out-of-court settlement, the Dallas Morning News reported.

According to the local news, on May 20, 2021, Frisco officials answered a call that reported about three loose dogs in the Starwood neighborhood. One of the dogs was a Rottweiler that bit two people before the local animal services took it away. Both of the victims were later hospitalized but were released. Elliott’s Rottweiler was put into a mandatory 10-day quarantine.

Elliott was aware, claimed Gampper, that his dog had a propensity to bite and attack people. But that did not make him keep his pet safely confined to his house’s vicinity.

Elliott’s dogs have a history of creating mischief in the past, leading to further lawsuits. In 2020, the Missouri native was sued by a swimming pool attendant. She claimed Elliott’s Rottweiler and two bulldogs allegedly attacked her in March of that year, and she even had to go through surgery. The police did not file charges, as the woman dropped the lawsuit.

The Philadelphia Eagles did not want to sign free Agent Ezekiel Elliott

When the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles meet next time on November 5, neither of the franchises will field Ezekiel Elliott. The two-time rushing champion remains a free agent after Jerry Jones let go of the 27-year-old in March.

There were even rumors that the Cowboys would give him a cut-price contract to stay, but nothing happened in the end. NFL Network’s Jane Slater revealed that the Cowboys are going with Tony Pollard, so there’s no room for Elliott.

Moreover, Elliott himself had a desire to play alongside Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia. However, the Super Bowl finalists never considered bringing him in. Slater claimed that a lot of guys want Elliot to return, but “it just doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of smoke here.” Ezekiel Elliott’s penultimate season woes prompted the Cowboys to let him leave.
