“I was embarrassed”: Falcons DE Grady Jarrett says he was denied service at a restaurant over dress code

Grady Jarrett

Grady Jarrett has made a name for himself on the biggest stage. The talented defensive end features for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. After giving impressive performances during his college football days at Clemson, he made it to the NFL in 2015 and since then, he has been an integral part of the Falcons.

Recently, Jarrett claimed that he was left dejected, disappointed, and embarrassed after an Atlanta-based restaurant refused to serve him. The reason why he wasn’t allowed to enter is the way he was dressed up.

Before Grady Jarrett, Dominique Wilkins was also denied service by the same restaurant in the past

Grady took to social media to inform the world that he wasn’t treated as expected when he went to have dinner at the Buckhead restaurant Le Bilboquet Atlanta. As it turns out, this isn’t the first time this particular restaurant has done something like this.

As reported by 11Alive.com, Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins was also denied service in the same restaurant. At that time, Wilkins had called out the restaurant for being racist. When Jarrett opened up about the way he was treated, a former Clemson Alumni named Beil Cooper took to Twitter and claimed that Jarrett was actually in the wrong.

And as a fellow Clemson Alumni, I support Grady. But n this case, he’s more n the wrong than right. He had on a sweatsuit & got denied service at a restaurant that doesn’t allow it. So don’t wear a sweatsuit there anymore. Or better yet, take your money where it’s appreciated,” he Tweeted.

Jarrett wasted no time in leaving a reply for Beil, “I would agree if I was the only one there in the attire. Thx former Clemson Alum, Do some research like I wish I had done on the previous problems this establishment has dealt with. Just spreading awareness my guy,” he wrote.

Racism or just dress code, no one knows what the real truth is but one thing is for sure, not a lot of NFL or NBA players would now be keen on visiting the same restaurant in the future.
