The Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has once again found himself in the middle of controversies regarding his son Britt Reid. Back in November 2022, Andy’s son Britt was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in a DWI case, causing severe injuries to some individuals. However, his sentencing has been reduced now to a house arrest, subject to some conditions.
According to multiple reports, Britt has received the green signal from Mike Parson, the Governor of Missouri, regarding a reduction in his sentence from prison time. His remaining sentence has been commuted to house arrest.
Obviously, Parson’s decision did not sit well with many, including the victim’s family. The family of Ariel Young and their lawyer put up a statement revealing they were disgusted by the Governor’s actions.
The family is disgusted, I am disgusted, and I believe . . . that the majority of the people in the state of Missouri are disgusted by the governor’s actions. If you drink and drive and you put a little girl in a coma… you should have to serve the entire sentence that a judge of this state gave you.Lawyer Tom Porto said
Parson’s decision came after the Missouri governor decided to review the sentence. According to The New York Post, Jonathan David, the Spokesperson for the Missouri Governor, claims Britt has served more time in prison than a normal individual convicted of similar crimes. As a result, the Missouri governor decided to reduce the sentence.

Just days ahead of the Super Bowl, back in 2021, the assistant coach of the Chiefs crashed his truck into multiple vehicles while driving intoxicated. The tragic incident caused six injuries. One of the victims was 5-year-old Ariel Young, who spent 11 days in a coma after the accident.
Ariel Young’s mother exhibited her agony over Governor’s decision to reduce Britt Reid’s prison time
After the Missouri Governor’s decision came to light, Ariel Young’s mother, Felicia Miller, expressed her agony. She questioned the Governor about what he would do if the girl were his daughter. She also pointed finger at the partiality of law.
How would the governor feel if this was his daughter? . . . It seems the laws don’t apply equally to the haves and have nots. The haves get favors. The have nots serve their sentence.Felicia Miller said in a statement
As things stand right now, the Chiefs are really in trouble due to DWI cases. The family members of both the head coach and the quarterback have been charged for driving while influenced, which clearly tampers the image of the team among the fans.
