YouTube has finally ventured into sports broadcasting by winning a close war against big giants like Apple. The video streaming company paid around $2 billion to secure the NFL Sunday Ticket rights.

They recently announced the pricing of their yearly plans and it’s way different and complicated than many would have expected. There are different parameters that define the yearly plans.

In hindsight, the yearly membership will cost fans around $449/season for a basic package. However, if one requires the RedZone as well, then they will have to pay around $489/season. Fortunately, there’s a sale going on currently where one can acquire the basic package for $349 and the RedZone package for $389 if they purchase the membership before June 6, 2023.

There is also a concession for YouTube TV subscribers. THe streaming service wanted to reward their loyal customers with additional discounts. TV subscribers can get the basic package for $349/season but with the sale going on it’s a steal at $249. On the other hand, the RedZone package will cost around $389/season but before June 6, one can get it for $289. However, these don’t include the YouTube TV membership cost.

Many were taken aback by these extravagant prices. The masses believed that YouTube will have low prices during their first year to drive customer traffic. However, they have gone the complete opposite write and many on NFL Twitter weren’t happy with this decision.

NFL Twitter was enraged after finding out about YouTube Sunday Ticket’s pricing structure

YouTube is one of the biggest video streaming platforms in the world. Their foray into the world of NFL is highly detrimental to the world of sports. Although, the video platform has offered various benefits and features with the plans, many weren’t excited about it.

NFL Twitter was furious after looking at the prices and many started to praise DirecTV who had the Sunday Ticket rights before YouTube. Social media weren’t ready to pay a big amount just to see their favourite team play. This resulted in YouTube get brutally roasted on social media and everyone started to call out their extravagant pricing structure. Take a look at some of the comments down below.

Many on NFL Twitter had questions regarding the working of YouTube’s Sunday Ticket membership. It is still not known how many have yet subscribed to the services as the platform has just released their prices.
