Stefon Diggs was angry for not receiving enough passes early on and vented all his frustration during the break. But that was not the only eventful moment for the Buffalo Bills All-Pro receiver.
He finished the first three quarters with just six touches on the ball. However, he came alive in the fourth, making more purposeful runs and creating spaces for Dalton Kincaid and Khalil Shakir.
Diggs’ patience paid off with just under 4 minutes remaining on the clock. Quarterback Josh Allen found the 29-year-old, and he ran for a 17-yard touchdown. The same pair combined for a two-pointer moments later.
Allen found Diggs open in the endzone with just a single Cincinnati Bengals player on coverage. He caught the ball while in full motion and was unable to hit the brakes on time, colliding with a rotund security guard who was just doing his job, keeping an eye out for trouble in front of him.
Bills secured the points, which reduced the gap to just 6 points. Diggs was in a hurry because there was no time for celebration. But he couldn’t move an inch as the security was crushing his legs until center Mitch Morse came to the rescue. He pulled his star playmaker out, but before that, Diggs could be heard shouting at the security guard, “Get your as* up!”
Social media blasts Stefon Diggs for his choice of words against the security guard
While it was almost impossible for Diggs to stop with that much forward momentum, social media is pissed at his behavior. They condemned the three-time pro bowler’s choice of words. According to a section of the commenters, the guard was just doing his duty. He did not warrant such harsh words from the Bills man.
They branded Diggs as ‘classless.’ Here are some of the reactions from the netizens.
All the negativity aside, Buffalo lost the game as neither team failed to trouble the scores. The game finished 24-18 in favor of the Bengals. Diggs capped the day with six receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown as per ESPN.com. The Bills are now 5-4 with the defeat and have slipped to the third spot in the AFC East. Next, they will face the Denver Broncos at Orchard Park.
